HAF IT WYRE FOREST

Let life be...Healthy

Since Summer 2021, we have been apart of the Worcestershire HAF programme. This programme delivers FREE holiday activities and food for children receiving free school meals across the country.

Following on from our success in running mobile outreach activities across the Wyre Forest, we now also run regular HAF programmes from our own Younity Youth and Family Hub on The Walshes estate in Stourport-on-Severn and at Birchen Coppice Primary Academy in Kidderminster.

Our Easter and Summer holiday clubs offer a range of exciting and enriching activities, including bike riding, fitness bootcamps, circus skills, football, cricket, boxing, fashion shows, crafts and music sessions, along with a healthy hot meal.

Since 2021, we have had over 5000 engagements with our HAF programmes, helping children and young people aged 5 - 16 to be more active, eat well, make friends and enjoy new experiences over the holidays.

With support from the District Council, partner organisations, community groups and businesses, we have grown our offer to meet the needs of the community and support the development of children across the district.

Where to next!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

At the heart of what we do, is the community. We are pushing for more community events across the Wyre Forest and support several organisations with their own HAF programmes. With HAF we deliver community events across five venues which include four hours of enriching activities and a free lunch. Our community outreach events are open to everyone, providing support for now and whatever the future may hold.

HOLIDAY CLUB ACTIVITIES

We are currently delivering Easter and Summer holiday clubs for children aged 5 - 11, at our Younity Hub and Birchen Coppice Primary Academy. We work with several schools across the country to support as many children as possible through the holidays, in addition to our term time offers. We work with partner organisations to deliver a range of exciting activities as well as having our own adventure skills and sport platform.

TESTIMONIALS

Those who attended our HAF sessions

Fantastic activities for the children, especially in the holidays! The children in our group enjoyed all the activities on offer!

What a fantastic day we have had here! The kids have tried so many different things and the help is great. We would definitely come again!

Lovely activities for the summer holidays - amazing to have something for free and outdoors to do. My boys enjoyed having a go at all the activities and particularly enjoyed the bubbles and golf

Being able to attend something at least once a week is great and the lunches are good! A good variety of activities available and information stands such as WWT and CAMHS.

Excellent! My son feels that he is not left out because of his disability! Thank you!

Lovely to attend something for free. The children really enjoyed trying different activities that they wouldn't normally do. They enjoyed the food as well! Was not expecting that!
